LEADERSHIP

By Kris Vallotton October 11, 2023
I recently hosted a LIVE Q&A on the topic of financial stewardship on my social accounts. The synergy and curiosity on the subject of wealth specifically prompted me to share this blog post originally written on March 9, 2016. I hope this blog encourages and inspires you!

Has the political climate caused you to want to shrink back and poise preconceived ideas about political agendas or judge governmental ideologies. Maybe you have even made statements such as, “I hate politics”, yet your blood still boils when you consider the state of society or the injustices that surround you. There is a reason the injustices, immorality, and evil in our world affect us in a deep and emotional place; we were created to bring light to the dark places of society. We were created to be the light of the world not to stay within the four walls tending to our comfortability and compatibility.

Have you ever wondered if there are areas in your life you don’t invite the Lord to speak into? Maybe it’s your health, dreams, money, or business? Maybe you have subconsciously written it off as “unspiritual” or you have decided that He simply doesn’t care about it. I’d propose, the danger in our life lies in the space that we deem untouchable and undesirable to God — we limit His ability, restrict His access, and suffocate sanctified solutions necessary to move the mountains in our life.

Our government isn’t perfect. There are imperfect people in leadership across the nation and a system that often feels polarizing; full of insufficiencies, gaps, and evil agendas. But, in the midst of our shortcomings is a God that isn’t scared of the imperfect structures we’ve created, rather He has selected people to lead nations and govern people. Yet, so often in our uncomfortability we deem things insignificant or even worse destructive. The Church often strays away from the conversation of politics because of the nature of the sphere, but the Lord has created people to step into these very spaces and bring supernatural solutions from Heaven.

WHY YOU NEVER OUTGROW YOUR ROLE AS A SON OR DAUGHTER

What would the world look like if there was a movement of fathers who turned their hearts back toward their sons and poured into their manhood? Can you imagine the effect this would have on a generation? Men that know their identity and live in the fullness of their calling. The cracked foundation of masculinity becomes firm and the unstable beams stand secure because fathers returned home to provide security for their children and promote them into their destinies. I can only imagine the difference this would make in society.

Discrimination is a topic that has been dodged in the Church and deserted in the meeting places of our congregations for far too long. We’ve become comfortable with our calloused hearts regarding the topic of racism and culture and stay stuck in our box of comfortability. But, I’d propose that prejudice grows in the roots of the unknown; where lack of understanding and self-protection robs us of the nourishment diversity feeds our souls. Fear of rejection drowns our souls in the assimilation of the environment around us until we are unrecognizable. But, is this what God intended when He created every tribe and tongue? That we would become judgemental of those who are different from us? Or is this also rooted in fear - the fear of the unknown or of being uncomfortable?

As School of the Prophets 2022 comes to a close I am filled with exceptional expectation for what the Lord is doing in this season of reformation. This week-long intensive training school felt like a marked moment in history as prophetic people from all over the world joined together to be equipped, trained, and pursue the heart of the Father. Long gone are the days where we are easily swayed by the realities that we face — it is time to begin directing the forthcoming moment in history as prophets that protect the things that matter most to God. We have been called to be a people of courage — not limited by first heaven realities or reactive to second heaven tragedies. But, seated in our Heavenly seat interceding for the reformation of a generation. It is time for the prophets to arise and in the boldness of the Holy Spirit make their mark on a culture that is desperately looking for the Truth.

This week we are in the midst of School of the Prophets; a week-long intensive training school. This is one of my favorite times of the year as prophets and highly prophetic people gather together to pursue the presence of God and receive fresh vision and revelation for the current season. On opening night, as we began to worship, a synergy filled the room and stirred our hearts as we approached the first session. In the inaugural session of School of the Prophets 2022, I felt it pressed upon my heart to share an intimate and transparent message as I pulled back the curtain and shared what the Lord has recently spoken to me about for this season.

The calling of a prophet is simple, yet can feel complex. We have been commanded to equip the saints for the work of service, but what does this really look like? It is often assumed that a prophet has to fit one mold or look a specific way; a person on a platform making prophetic proclamations or a traveling preacher giving words to different congregations.
